One Day At The Airport
Once upon a time, there was boy named La Bi Xiao Xin(蜡笔小新)(Crayon Shin Chan).

Xiao Xin had a father called Homer.

Once when he was four year old, his father brought him to the airport on one fine Sunday afternoon.
They took the train to the airport. On the train, they sat inside the last carriage.
When they reached the airport, they exited the train station and went up the escalator. They found everything to be oddly familiar as prior to that, they had been going to the airport almost every Sunday for the last couple of years.
Only one thing was strange, everything was laterally-inverted, like images in a mirror.
For usually they would exit the station by the south end, but on that particular day, they exited the station by the north end instead.
When they came to departure hall level, Homer realised it was not the usual Terminal 2 which they were familiar with, but the new Terminal 3.

Homer brought Xiao Xin to the Skytrain station to take a sky-train to Terminal 2.
Here’s where the “misadventure” happened.
Xiao Xin ran ahead of his father into the train. His father followed behind and entered the train.

Inside the train, Xiao Xin turned around and couldn’t see his father. He couldn’t see his father because he didn’t turn a full 360 degrees but only 270 degrees. Thinking that his father did not enter the train, he panicked and dashed out of the train.
His father called out to him, “Xiao Xin!”
Xiao Xin heard his father’s voice, spun around and saw his father inside the train. He tried to dash back into the train. But alas, it was too late. The train doors had closed and the train started to make its way to Terminal 2.
Both father and son panicked.

Thank God there was an airport staff “manning” the station at that time. He said something to Homer which he couldn’t hear. But Homer could read his lips going, “… Terminal 2…”
Homer mistakenly thought that the airport staff would accompany Xiao Xin to take the next train from T3 to T2. He didn’t know that staff was supposed to be stationed at T3’s skytrain stop at all times. He took care of Xiao Xin while he waited for his father to return.
When Homer reached T2, he waited for the next train from T3 to arrive.
The next train came and the crowds that visited T3 came pouring out of the train. Homer did not see his son appear, this made him even more worried. He quickly hopped onto the train and made his way back to T3.
Even though the entire ordeal was only actually about 5 to 10 minutes, it felt like an eternity as Homer was worried sick and agonising over his son’s absence. He wondered if Xiao Xin felt the same way too, seeing that the train that came from T2 to T3 did not bring back his father.
Xiao Xin was a brave boy. While waiting at the spanking new T3 with the airport staff, he didn’t cry at all. His father was relieved to see him alright. He thanked the staff, picked up Xiao Xin, hugged and carried him in the train all the way to Terminal 2.
Thank God He kept Xiao Xin safe and sound. Amen.
